ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford’s indoor city market hosted a special pop-up shop geared toward pets.

The Rockford City Market hosted the second event of its pop-up series on Saturday. The event showcased vendors with pet themed merchandise and puppy yoga.

Noah’s Ark and PAWS were on site with dogs ready to be adopted and educational materials for new and aspiring adopters.

Market staff say the pop-up event is another way for them to attract community members with a niche interest.

“We had the Great Pumpkin Market last month and we have the holiday markets next month. So, it’s a nice way to have people gather together around the interests that they share,” said Rock River Development Partnership Director Cathy McDermott.

The market’s next pop-up will be a holiday pop-up held on November 13.
