ROCKFORD (WREX) — SwedishAmerican hospital now has new tools to take on higher-risk cardiac patients.
SwedishAmerican officially cut the ribbon on its newly renovated catheterization lab Thursday morning.
The renovated space has five procedure rooms, compared to the old lab’s four, and each room is set with state-of-the-art, imaging technology. The imaging tools in each room emit lower amounts of radiation, meaning patients with higher risk-factors will have an easier time receiving optimum care.
Doctors say patients can rest easy knowing top-notch care and equipment are close to home.
“If you have a family member or yourself have heart disease, you don’t have to go far from home,” says Yaser Siraj, SwedishAmerican Medical Director of Cardiology. “You can be absolutely confident and very comfortable that you can be well taken care of here locally.”
SwedishAmerican is the second hospital in the area to have opened a new, updated cath lab this year.
