ROCKFORD (WREX) — While most high school football teams are looking to stamp their ticket to state, one youth football program is already sending three teams to compete with Illinois’ best.
The Rockford Titans qualified their Mitey Mite, Pee Wee, and Unlimited teams to compete in the Chicagoland championships this weekend.
Leaders of the program like President Earl Hernandez believe the program’s success is thanks to people both on and off the field.
“”We couldn’t be prouder of these kids,” Hernandez said. “It’s an effort of all of our volunteers, our volunteer board, the coaches, the parents that make all of this work. We just can’t say enough about all of them.”
If the teams win this weekend, they will move on to the regional championships in Indiana.
