Police investigate racist poster seen on UW-Madison campus

MADISON (WKOW) — The UW-Madison Police Department is investigating after posters were placed around campus with racial messages.

Early Friday morning, a picture showing a poster outside the Science Hall circulated social media. It reads “UW 4 Whites Only!”

In response, the university said “UW stands against hate and racism.” They said they believe this is part of a protest calling attention to experiences of underrepresented students.

Officials removed the message at the Science Hall and said they would be taking others down.

More information is expected to be released later Friday.
