Two men wanted on felony charges arrested after police chase ends on I-90

BELOIT (WREX) — Two men are in custody after a police chase from Beloit ends on I-90 near Machesney Park.

Stephan Ross-Traylor, 23, and Keanthony Spence, 25, both of Beloit, were taken into custody Wednesday evening. The City of Beloit Police say both men were wanted on felony charges.

Police say they received a tip that Ross-Traylor had been spotted in a vehicle near St. Lawrence Avenue and Moore Street in Beloit. Officers say they located the vehicle around 3:30 p.m. at Shirland and Townline avenues.

The vehicle then sped off and a pursuit began through downtown Beloit and onto Interstate 90. The vehicle came to a stop on I-90 near Rt. 173 in Machensey Park.

Both Ross-Traylor and Spence tried to run away on foot, but were caught and taken into custody. Both were taken to the Winnebago County Jail.

Beloit Police say Ross-Traylor, the passenger in the vehicle, has a known history of weapons violations and escape; he is facing several significant felonies in Rock County Circuit Court. The driver, Spence, also had felony warrants out for his arrest.

As of 5:30, the right southbound lane on I-90 and the ramp to get off of I-90 onto Rt. 173 are still closed.
