ROCK FALLS (WREX) — A longtime Rock Falls attorney is arrested and charged with criminal sexual assault.
Michael Lancaster, who has practiced law in Whiteside County for 30 years, was taken in to custody on Thursday, according to Illinois State Police.
ISP says a victim who had hired Lancaster as her attorney was allegedly assaulted during a scheduled meeting at his office located at 15 E. Third St. in Sterling. ISP says agents executed a search warrant at his office and his Rock Falls home to search for evidence to corroborate the victim’s complaint.
He was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Thursday and taken in to custody at the Whiteside County Jail on $150,000 bond.
He’s charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and one count of unlawful restraint.
The Whiteside County State’s Attorney has requested the Rock Island County State’s Attorney handle the case to avoid any perception of conflict of interest.
