FREEPORT (WREX)- A man convicted of killing two people in a Stephenson County bar will not get a new trial.

Devin Marcum was in a Stephenson County courtroom Thursday for sentencing.

Court documents show his defense team filed a motion to have a new trial, that motion was denied.

In August, Marcum was found guilty of shooting and killing Kyle Tucker, 35, and Shaun Bradbury, 36, and shooting Michael Steinhauser, 35, who survived.

The shooting happened at Cedar Inn bar in Cedarville around 1:50 a.m. Feb. 3 after police say a fight broke out.

Marcum will now be sentenced on November 13.
