ROCKFORD (WREX) – How can we decrease our carbon footprint? That is what’s going to be discussed later this month in the Stateline.
The Rockford Sustainability Summit is going to be held on Saturday, Sept. 28. There will be several events going on throughout the area that day, including discussions, a bike tour and a rain barrel painting contest. People can learn about plant-based diets, how to reduce energy waste and save money and different transportation items.”
“A lot of people are talking about the climate crisis, but we’re talking about it in our homes with our families and friends and I think it’s important for us to get together and talk about it as a community because the solutions aren’t going to be just individual solutions,” said Rebecca Quirk, who is the Event Organizer for the Rockford Sustainability Summit. “It’s going to involve businesses and the government as well.”
The summit is from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. To find out more about the schedule of events, click here.
