ORANGEVILLE – The Orangeville Broncos’ defense did the heavy lifting at home in Week 3 of the high school football season.

The Broncos forced five turnovers, four forced fumbles and an interception, in their 9-0 shutout win over Galena in NUIC play.

The Broncos improved to 2-1 on the year with their second win in a row, and the Pirates dropped to 0-3.

Orangeville set the tone on defense on the very first play from scrimmage, forcing a fumble, and then the offense did the rest on their opening drive. Carter Kleckler and Garret Rodebaugh combined on the ground to score the game’s only touchdown in the first quarter. The Broncos pitched a shutout the rest of the way, and added a field goal in the fourth quarter to wrap up the victory.

Orangeville hits the road in Week 4 to face DuPec, who lost their first game of the year in Week 3, a road defeat to Dakota.
