LOVES PARK (WREX) — A Rockford area dental office is banning together to help a coworker beat breast cancer.
Kim Jacobsen was diagnosed with breast cancer back in May and many missed days for treatment left her struggling to pay her medical bills. Now, Kim has her “family” there to help.
Burch Dental has been collecting items for a garage sale to benefit Kim’s treatments. Saturday morning, the fruits of their labor finally came together as the sale opened to the public.
Jacobsen’s benefit sale was held at Burch Dental’s Loves Park location off of Forest Hills from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Donated items and baskets were sold and all proceeds will go towards Kim’s final treatments over the next year.
Kim says no matter how small the donation or purchase, she is grateful to her Burch Dental family and every little bit helps.
“I’m just very blessed to have people out her to help me, to support me, and to help with my medical bills,” says Jacobsen. “I mean, I have this year and I have to go into next year as well, so every little bit helps.”
Kim says she is now cancer free and undergoing final precautionary treatments.
