Man gets 20 years for role in Rockford home invasion

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) — A Rockford man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in a home invasion.

Christopher Walker was sentenced Thursday by Judge Randy Wilt.

The Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office says in August 2014, Rockford Police responded to a home in the 2800 block of Lapey Street for a home invasion. They say  a man reported he was inside the home when the defendant, and to women broke in with weapons and demanded money.

Detectives discovered Walker worked with the two women to orchestrate the home invasion.

Walker was sentenced to 20 percent in the Illinois Department of Corrections, which will be served at 50 percent.
