Woman arrested in connection to Freeport murder

FREEPORT (WREX) — A woman is in custody and faces charges in connection to a June murder of Thomas Fort.

Jennifer Adams, 41, was taken in to custody in Joliet this morning. Adams will be held in the Will County Jail until she can be extradited to the Stephenson County Jail.

The murder happened June 5. Fort was found dead in a vacant parking lot int he 500 block of E. Iroquois St.

Javian Adams, 23 of Freeport, was taken in to custody a few days after the murder.

Police say the mother and son are suspects in Fort’s death. An autopsy on Fort found that he had multiple facial injuries, including a broken jaw.
