Beloit woman identified in crash with dump truck in Rock County

UPDATE (WKOW) — The woman who died after her car slammed into a dump truck in the town of Magnolia has been identified.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Officer says 29-year-old Rachelle Dement, of Beloit, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigators say a Dodge Charger driven by Dement missed a stop sign at W CTH B and hit a loaded Mack dump truck that was westbound on the highway.

Dement and a five-year-old boy in the car were both thrown from the vehicle. Dement was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.


TOWN OF MAGNOLIA (WKOW) — Deputies say one woman is dead and a boy is in the hospital after a car slammed into a dump truck.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened just before 4 p.m. Monday at the intersection of W. CTH B and N. Coon Island Road in the town of Magnolia, which is north of Orfordville and west of Janesville.

Investigators say a Dodge Charger driven by a 29-year-old Evansville woman missed a stop sign at W CTH B and hit a loaded Mack dump truck that was westbound on the highway.

The woman and a five-year-old boy in the car were both thrown from the vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The boy was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

A two-month-old girl in the car was not hurt.

The driver of the dump truck was also unhurt.
