ROCKFORD (WREX) – A local hospital gets unique gifts Tuesday from a charitable organization.

Sadie’s Dream for a Cure dropped off handmade bags at SwedishAmerican Hospital’s pediatric’s unit. The bags were made by volunteers who sent them to Sadie’s Dream for a Cure. The organization, which was founded in 2012 after a baby named Sadie was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, gives hospitals bags filled with activities such as puzzles and coloring books.

“It means everything,” said Lynn Heeren, who is a founding member of Sadie’s Dream for a Cure. “I’ve always loved working with kids and it’s a way to help sick children.”

Sadie’s Dream for a Cure says it brought 50 bags to the hospital. For more information on the organization, click here.
