Felon arrested on weapons charges

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford Police say a months long investigation leads to a man being arrested on weapons charges.

Michael Uecker, 37, of Rockford, was taken into custody on Tuesday in the 400 block of S. Henrietta Ave.

Police say they received information of a known felon selling a firearm. During the investigation, authorities recovered a gun and numerous rounds of ammunition.

Officers found more ammunition during the arrest.

Uecker faces several charges, including unlawful use of weapons by a felon, possession of a firearm, unlawful delivery of a firearm and two counts of possession of ammunition.

Uecker’s bond was set at $100,000.
