Jefferson High School student arrested after threatening to commit shooting at football game

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A 17-year-old Jefferson High School student has been arrested after Rockford Police were made aware of a social media post that threatened a shooting at a high school football game Friday night.

Police say the student “indicated the intent to commit a shooting” at Auburn High School’s Wyeth Stadium, where  Jefferson and Harlem are scheduled to play.

The student, who has not been identified, has been charged with Felony Disorderly Conduct.

The game is expected to go on as scheduled.
