Traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Police have arrested a Rockford man on two drug counts after he’s pulled over in a traffic stop.

Leamonte Bibbs, 21, is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver heroin, according to the Rockford Police Department.

At around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Rockford Police pulled Bibbs over in the 500 block of Howard Avenue. During the stop, officers found three dozen baggies of substances they believe to be heroin and crack cocaine. Officers also recovered hundreds of dollars in cash and property.

Bibbs was taken in to custody at the Winnebago County Jail.
