NASHVILLE (WREX) — Former Boylan standout quarterback Demry Croft is charged with rape and sexual battery in Tennessee, according to a report by the Tennessean.

Croft, 22, was arrested Monday in Nashville and charged with six counts of rape and two counts of sexual battery.

The report says the charges stem from a Dec. 1 incident.  Public crime logs from Tennessee State University, where Croft is a student-athlete, show someone reported a Dec. 1 rape on April 4.

The report says Croft bonded out of jail Monday evening on $50,000 bond.  The Associated Press reports an arraignment has been scheduled for Sept. 4.

Croft is a 2015 graduate of Boylan High School and is currently a quarterback at Tennessee State. Croft’s status on the football team is unknown at this time. The Tennessean says Croft was not at the team’s scrimmage on Aug. 17.

Croft started Tennessee State’s first four games last year before suffering a season-ending injury. He started the final six games of Minnesota’s 2017 season before transferring to Tennessee State.
