ROCKFORD (WREX) – Rockford will see more tourists this weekend thanks to another big event.

The final weekend of, “Love Never Fails,” Regional Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses started on Friday at the BMO Harris Bank Center. More than 3,000 people are expected to attend the event. It will be tied into one of seven larger conventions in the United States, which is expected to host 35,000 foreign delegates from 105 countries.

“We love having the convention here at Rockford,” said Jonathan Gomas, who is a Spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “The hospitality of the community is fantastic. Working with the local Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, even having local law enforcement on the streets Friday morning to help our delegates in with traffic.”

The convention continues on Saturday from 9:20 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9:20 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. For more information on the event, click here.
