UPDATE: Rockford residential fire is arson, according to Rockford Fire

ROCKFORD (WREX) — The Rockford Fire Department says a residential house that caught fire early Friday is an arson.

Multiple people were removed from a home that caught fire early Friday morning in Rockford.

Officials say a call came in around 3:15 this morning for a fire in the 400 block of Forest Avenue on Rockford’s west side. When firefighters got to the home, a car in the driveway and the front of the home were both on fire.

As of 3:25 this morning, Rockford Fire says everyone in the home is out safe.

Rockford Fire is investigating the arson.
