Facebook tip leads to arrest in rare collector coin theft case

TOWN OF BELOIT (WKOW) — The suspect in the theft of rare collector coins was arrested after police posted his photo on Facebook.

John L. Isaacson, 57, Beloit, faces charges of burglary and theft.

Town of Beloit Police Department was called July 27 to investigate a burglary in the 2200 block of Pow Wow Trail.

Forced entry had been made into the home and an undisclosed amount of rare collector coins had been taken, according to a Town of Beloit Police Department news release.

The investigation developed information that Isaacson was their suspect, and they posted his photo on their Facebook page.

With the public’s help, Isaacson was taken into custody on Aug. 15, 2019 and is being held at the Rock County Jail awaiting court appearance on charges of burglary and theft.
