ROCKFORD (WREX) — A time honored tradition continued at Rockford Lutheran High School Thursday morning.

Seniors at Rockford Lutheran high school lined up at the doors this morning all for a chance to run to get the locker they wanted.

It’s a first come first serve competition, but seniors at the school look at it differently.

“It’s not really like a competition.,” said Finley Rock, the Senior Class President at Rockford Lutheran. “We’re supposed to be here because we get to pick our lockers and we get to run and it’s just like whoever gets there first. But to me, that’s not what it’s really about. It’s just a good start off for senior year and it’s just a good way to start senior year bonding with your class.”

Finley says many of the students arrived at the school at 9:30 Wednesday night to prepare for the run.
