Coronado Theater announces first free-to-the-public performance in November

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A world class performance is coming to the Coronado Theater this fall and it won’t cost anyone to watch it.

Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara announced world-renowned Alvin Ailey II Dance Company will perform at the Coronado on Veterans Day, November 11.

Ailey II is universally known as the country’s best young dance talent and most outstanding choreographers. The New York Times said: “There’s nothing like an evening spent with Ailey II, the younger version of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.”

The Coronado says on November 12, all of the 4th grade students at RPS 205 will go to the Coronado to see show at no cost.

The Coronado anticipates 4,000 community members will see the performance for free over the two day stretch.
