Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere announces arrival of two-toed baby sloth

BELVIDERE (WREX) — Summerfield Zoo in Belvidere has announced the arrival of a two-toed sloth.

The sloth, named Flash, is a baby sloth who spends is days eating, sleeping and hanging upside down, according to the zoo.

“We are thrilled to be adding Flash to the zoo family, as he will be a great addition to our educational programs,” says Rick Anderson, director at Summerfield Zoo.

The zoo says Flash’s addition was made possible due to a direct donation.

A celebration for Flash’s arrival will be held August 16 & 17.

Flash will be is available for viewing at the zoo’s animal nursery on the weekend through September 1, 2019.
