BELOIT (WREX) — What would you do for free burgers for a year? Seven people were willing to ink their skin permanently.
They won a contest with Lucy’s #7 Burger Bar in Beloit, and they couldn’t get just any tattoo. They had to get one representing Lucy’s.
“You only live once,” said winner January Frye.
Frye picked the Lucy’s logo along some red lips as her tattoo. The same one winner Dan Bartlett picked.
“I’ve got other ink and all my tattoos have stories. What better way to add another story to my canvas, if you will, then put a Lucy’s tattoo on my body,” said Bartlett.
The seven winners could also choose a set of legs with fishnets, a plain Lucy’s logo, or a full pin-up of Lucy.
“There’s always gonna be the memory of it. And you know it was just a fun contest and a great promo for them so I won’t have regrets,” said Frye.
While this contest is over, it may not be the last for Lucy’s.
“I think that it went over really well and it got people really excited, so, I mean we should (do it again). We should do that for our fans,” said Emily Hopper, general manager and executive chef for Lucy’s #7.
