Vacant house catches fire Monday morning

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A vacant house catches fire early Monday morning in Rockford.

The Rockford Fire Department was called to the scene to a house that was on fire at 625 Pope Street at 3:48 a.m.

First responders arrived on scene and found smoke coming from the vacant and boarded-up single family home. Additional crews were called to the scene to help provide ventilation, lighting and manpower to battle the fire.
