ROCKFORD (WREX) – Easterseals got a donation of more than $28,000 on Monday to help people with Autism in the Rockford area.

Hyundai on Perryville, LawnCare by Walter and the Rockford IceHogs joined together to donate the money. Easterseals hopes the money allows the organization to reach more people with its diagnostic technology. Leaders in the company say the donations show how Rockford is a tight-knit community.

“This is the lifeblood of what we do,” said Sara Ray Stoelinga, who is the CEO of Easterseals. “Rockford is a family, and this is part of the Easterseals family as we are part of the Rockford family.”

The IceHogs will continue to fundraise through their annual Autism Awareness Night on Jan. 25.
