ROCKFORD (WREX) — More than 130 Lutheran educators made their way to Rockford Lutheran School for Professional Development Day.

The day was filled with numerous workshops teaching leadership skills to students, improving workflows and much more.

Judy Fiene, the Faculty Dean of Rockford Lutheran School, said putting together events like these give best practices to Lutheran educators including making learning engaging, exciting and differentiated.

Fifteen different Greater Rockford Area Lutheran Schools attended the event to learn specific topics to implement for the upcoming school year.

“It’s really important I think for them to connect with one another as well as get this really rich professional development specifically for Lutheran educators and keeping true to their Lutheran identity,” said Cory Newman, Executive Director of the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association.

Professional Development Day is held once a year for Lutheran teachers to showcase and share their talent.
