JANESVILLE (WKOW) — Authorities have released the name of a man who was hit and killed in Janesville Friday night.

According to the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department, Dale R. Brockway, 45, died at a hospital after the incident.

The Janesville man was hit by a car in the 1200 block of Parker Drive around 9 p.m. on Friday

Police say a Janesville officer saw the car hit the man, flagged down a passing ambulance and got him to the hospital.

Several other people, including another driver and people working nearby, saw the crash and told officers there was no sign of unsafe driving. No one saw Brockway before the incident.

The driver was not impaired and there was no indication the driver was distracted, according to police. Investigators say the officer who saw the crash noticed the vehicle appeared to yield to the approaching ambulance.
