CHICAGO (NBC Chicago) — Staff at a Chicago VA hospital were sheltering in place Monday afternoon following a reported incident, hospital officials told NBC Chicago.
NBC Chicago is reporting the incident happened at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, located at 820 S. Damen Ave.. According to a spokesperson, staff were told to shelter in place.
Details on why remained unclear.
Acting Public Affairs Officer Valerie Creedon reported one person was in custody and everyone inside the building was “safe.”
Police said they were responding to the scene “to investigate a call” but could not confirm any details on what happened or if there were any injuries.
