Community holds vigil for husband, wife who were killed on Thursday

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Members of the Rockford community came together Friday night to remember a husband and wife who were killed at their home early Thursday morning.

Christina Langston-Hill was found dead outside of her home on Bruce St. around 3:30 Thursday morning. Her husband, Teon Hill, was found inside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During a press conference Thursday afternoon, police did not suspects, but named two persons of interest, Kelvin Langston, Christina’s brother, and Douglas Hollyfield.

Langston and Hollyfield were taken into custody on Friday on animal cruelty charges.

Police say they were called to the same house on Bruce St. on July 19 for a dog who had been shot several times. The dog died from its injuries.

Authorities identified Langston and Hollyfield as the suspects for shooting and killing the dog.

There have been no arrests made in the murders of Christina Langston-Hill and Teon Hill.
