WINNEBAGO (WREX) – For more than two decades, Anna’s Pizza in Winnebago has served up pizzas, pastas and other Italian favorites to the community. Now it’s preparing to say goodbye.

The restaurant announced on Facebook that it’s closing its doors for good in the next month or two. The owner said he and his wife decided to sell their building on South Benton Street to spend more time with family.

The Facebook post said in part,  “Having a family that is very active and working 80 hours a week, 7 days a week just does not allow for as much family time as I would like. I have missed a lot and now I want family to be my focus!”

This is the second Winnebago restaurant to announce it’s closing. Cuppa Javaa on Cannell Puri Drive posted that it’s last day is Friday, August 9 as the owner prepares to retire.

Anna’s Pizza in Winnebago does not have ties to Anna’s Pizza in Rockford and Loves Park.
