(WREX) – Dozens of local motorcyclists came together to help uplift one of their own.

Richard Dixon loves riding to the 11th Street Cafe in Wisconsin, but his favorite activity may have to be put on hold.

Dixon has stage 4 skin cancer and is starting chemotherapy.

Friends and family decided to hop on their bikes and ride to Dixon’s favorite spot, raising money for his medical bills along the way.

Loved ones say they can’t believe how many people came out to support him.

“The amount of people that showed up to the benefit last night was it was very unexpected and he’s got a lot more support than I think he thought he had behind his back,” Richard’s daughter, Renee Dixon, said.

Fellow bikers say they support Dixon’s love for motorcycles and will continue to support him through his medical journey.
