LOVES PARK – The Rockford Rivets thought they had tied the game with back-to-back homeruns, but Andrew Wilhite’s shot into the right field corner was ruled foul, keeping it a 3-2 Kalamazoo lead. The Rivets would tie the game at 3 later, but the Growlers scored a run in the 9th inning to win, 4-3, and sweep the two-game series.

North Carolina State’s Jonny Butler hit the first homerun to get the Rivets back into the game at 3-2. The first run of the game came when Wilhite scored on an RBI single from Matt Higgins.

Next up, the Rivets play a split doubleheader with Kenosha Wednesday.
