Two Rockford men are wanted after allegedly shooting, killing a dog

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Two Rockford men are wanted for allegedly taking turns shooting and killing a dog.

Kelvin Langston, 28, and Douglas Hollyfield, 26, both of Rockford, are accused of shooting a dog several times causing it to die.

Police say it happened Friday morning just after 2:30 in the 700 block of Bruce St.

Officers say a woman was dog-sitting for a friend when two suspects, later identified as Langston and Hollyfield, entered the house and took turns shooting the dog. The dog died from its injuries. No one else was hurt.

Police say the suspects and the victim knew each other.

A warrant has been issued for both Langston and Hollyfield with bonds set at $150,000.

Both Langston and Hollyfield are still at large and anyone with information is being asked to contact the Rockford Police Department at 815-966-2900 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.
