ROCKFORD – Fred VanVleet wrapped up his three-day weekend at the UW-Health Sports Factory with the second day of his annual youth basketball camp.
Following Friday’s Fan Fest and Saturday’s camp opener, VanVleet ended the camp with some fun scrimmages and contests for the campers. He now heads into an offseason of rest and recuperation after winning his first NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors. He’ll also reflect on throwing a successful weekend of events in his hometown.
“Good way to put a flag down for my summer. Obviously the roller coaster that was the season for me. To finish with a championship, come home, rest a bit, then put together this weekend is very special. I always feel the love and see the love. I put a lot into this community, weekends like this is when I see giving back. That’s all I ask, people see what we’re trying to do, and they show up and show out. It’s been amazing, we hit home runs on every single event we did. It’ll be hard to exceed that next year, but i’m really looking forward to doing more in the future.”
