Discovery Center to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing

ROCKFORD (WREX) — The Discovery Center is set to celebrate the Apollo 11 mission that put humans on the moon.

The Discovery Center will have special activities Friday, July 19th from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Participants will get to launch a rocket and make a scale model you can eat. Other events include creating a crater, finding out about moon phases and an astronaut glove challenge.

There will also be a “race to the moon” event.

Admission to the event is $9.
