LOVES PARK (WREX) – A special way of showing support for local cancer patients Wednesday.
“In a chair waiting for a scan, whatever, if you can have a nice snuggly blanket, it makes incredible difference,” said Paul Baits with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Subaru and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society donated blankets to patients fighting cancer at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
The organization had around 80 blankets to pass out.
It’s meant to offer a sign of hope and comfort as the patients undergo treatment.
“As patients go through their treatment and their disease, it’s just nice to have something to provide comfort to them,” said Keith Ponce who is also from the OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center.
The blankets were also signed with messages from customers of Subaru.
