Gov. Pritzker to sign gaming bill in Springfield, not Rockford on Friday

SPRINGFIELD (WREX)- Governor JB Pritzker’s office says he will sign the four bills to enact Rebuild Illinois and expand gaming in the state.

Rockford leaders originally told 13 WREX that Governor Pritzker would sign the bill in Rockford, which is one of the cities where a new casino will be built once the bill is signed.

The governor will sign the bill at 10:15 a.m. in Springfield.

The city of Rockford will hold a media briefing Friday morning at 9:45 discussing the bill and the timeline of bringing a casino to Rockford.
