ROCKFORD – Belvidere North grad Bailey Larson finished up her college hockey career at Colgate University this past spring ranking 5th in points in school history. Larson racked up 46 goals and 71 assists for 117 points in her college career.
That propelled her into being drafted by the NWHL’s Boston Pride. But Larson has not signed with the team yet, as she is part of a movement to try to get better pay and working conditions for women’s professional hockey players. It’s a complicated issue that has delayed the start of her pro career, and we’ll hear more of her thoughts on that situation next week.
Larson came up through the Rockford Park District hockey program, setting the foundation for her skills at an early age.
