WREX (ROCKFORD) — A group of teenagers are working together to help others throughout Rockford.
Tuesday was the latest of Teen Volunteer Tuesdays held by the Rockford Public Library. Every Tuesday throughout the summer, teens gather to volunteer around the downtown community. After meetings, the volunteers walk to an agency in the community to volunteer. Tuesday, the group was volunteering at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary.
“Well this is an outstanding opportunity for students in Rockford to really bond with their community and take some ownership in their community. The volunteer opportunities also give them some skills that might help them as they grow, even with employment,” said Bridget Finn, Rockford Public Library Marketing Director.
Teen Volunteer Tuesdays are every Tuesday from 2PM – 4PM. Volunteers will meet at Heart Interim Library.
