Man taken into custody after allegedly stealing a snowblower

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford man is in custody after being accused of stealing a snow blower.

Zachariah Schneider, 26, of Rockford, was taken into custody on Sunday.

Police say Schneider entered a home in the 2100 block of S. Alpine Rd. for a burglary. Officers say Schneider entered the garage and left with a snow blower.

When officers searched the area, they found Schneider walking with a woman, Dawn Haenert, 39, in the 2500 block of S. Apline Rd. with the snowblower.

Officers say Haenert had drug paraphernalia inside of her purse.

Both were taken into custody and Schneider is still being held in the Winnebago County Jail. Officers are investigating the possibility of Schneider’s involvement in other burglaries.
