South Beloit receives grant money to help homeowners in need

SOUTH BELOIT (WREX)- People who live in South Beloit and need money for home repairs and now receive it thanks to a grant from the state of Illinois.

The city received $335,065 from the Illinois Housing Development Authority. Homeowners can receive up to $45,000 from that grant.

The Single Family Rehabilitation Program gives money to municipalities to then give forgivable loans to homeowners who have incomes at or below 80 percent of the area’s median income.

If you are a homeowner in South Beloit and want to apply for the rehab funds, pre-applications are available through June 25. You can apply at city hall Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
