Rockford man indicted on child abuse charges

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford man has been indicted for abusing two children.

Trevor Hasselmann, 22, of Rockford, was indicted on two counts of aggravated battery.

Rockford Police say they responded to a hospital in reference to a child abuse investigation on April 26th.

Officers met with a women who says she left her two children with her boyfriend while she went to work. When she came home, she noticed visible injuries on both children. The woman took the children to the hospital where they were treated and released.

Authorities took Hasslemann in on an unrelated warrant following the alleged abuse.

Hasselmann is being held in the Winnebago County Jail and is scheduled to be in court at 8:30 a.m. on June 6, 2019
