MACHESNEY PARK – The Harlem softball team played in familiar territory at the Harlem Sports Complex in Machesney Park, playing for a 4-A regional championship.

Huntley’s bats came alive late in the title game, defeating the Lady Huskies, 11-1.

The Lady Red Raiders and Lady Huskies were locked in a pitchers’ duel through the early innings, with Cheyenne Nietz and Bri Bower matching strikeouts in the circle. Up 2-1 in the bottom of the 5th, Sofia Tenuta ignited the Huntley offense with a three-run home run, and the Lady Red Raiders took off from there to advance to sectionals and end Harlem’s season.
