Boylan Catholic High School holds commencement for graduating students

ROCKFORD (WREX) – Graduation season continues in the Stateline as Boylan Catholic High School sends off its graduating students.

The school held its 57th commencement on Friday as it gave diplomas to 204 members of the class of 2019. According to the school, the graduating class includes two National Merit Commended Students and 27 Illinois State Scholars. To date, this year’s class has been offered more than $12 million in college scholarships.

“We prepare our students for what’s next after high school,” said Boylan Catholic High School President Amy Ott. “They transition very well to college and sometimes, in some circles, college might even be a tad bit easier than it is here at Boylan. But they’re prepared.”

The school adds that not only will many of the graduates be going to college, but this year’s class will also be represented in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.
