WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) –A discussion about who should pay for your 911 calls will now happen in the open.

The county board decided to appoint three board members to represent the county in those talks. It will also have the county administrator and a representative from the State’s Attorney’s Office there as well.

This all comes after Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marylin Hite Ross advised the county board to only talk about this matter in closed session because of an ongoing lawsuit between the sheriff and the county.

However, both the chairman and several board members did not think that was the right move. Board members say they hope to start discussing this issue in the next month.
