LENA – Nolan Lentz went to state alone representing Dakota last year. Now as a junior, he qualified in three events with several of his teammates also punching tickets to state.

“Last year we just had me going down so I had a few people I invited to come with me,” Lentz said. “This year we have so many people going down. It should be fun. Hopefully we have some people going to the finals.”

There is a lot of tough competition in the 1-A ranks at state, so Lentz and his teammates have some hard work ahead of them. But the Indians are no strangers to hard work, as they try to show what they’re capable of during track season.

Lentz punched a ticket to state in the 200M dash, 400M run and 4x100M relay. The state prelims for 1-A are set for Thursday, with the finals for all three classifications scheduled for Saturday in Charleston.
