Three area girls soccer teams put their seasons on the line Tuesday night in the postseason, but came up just short in their playoff pursuits.
The 1-A Super-Sectional at Benedictine University in Lisle put Stillman Valley on the turf against the Lisle Lady Lions. It was a tough night for the Lady Cardinals, falling in a 4-0 shutout, one game short of state.
In Class 2-A, the Hampshire sectional semifinals sent Boylan to the field against Crystal Lake Central. After an early Lady Titans goal on a corner kick, the Lady Tigers fought back and the two went to overtime. CLC came away with a 3-2 victory in the extra session.
The Class 3-A sectional semifinals at Guilford provided a short trip for Hononegah for their next challenge against Cary Grove. The Lady Trojans blanked the Lady Indians, 2-0.
