PECATONICA – Erie-Prophetstown built a 4-2 lead that held until the 6th inning, when Warren-Stockton tied the game, but the Warhawks allowed 3 runs in the bottom half of the inning to fall, 7-4, in the 2-A Pecatonica Regional semifinals.

After the Warhawks took an early 2-0 lead, the Panthers answered with a homerun from Harrison Ames and a couple of more runs to take a 4-2 lead.

Warren-Stockton put together a 6th inning rally, as Stanlee Rillie and Noah McGivney drove in runs to tie the game. But the Warhawks surrendered 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th, putting them into a 7-4 hole. The Warhawks did not quit, as they loaded the bases with nobody out in the 7th inning. But a couple of strikeouts and a groundout to the pitcher ended the rally and the game, sending the Warhawks home and propelling the Panthers to the Regional title game. They face the winner of North Boone and Winnebago in Saturday’s Regional title game.
